A delegation from the International Innovation Hub visits Rome
To strengthen partnerships with IFAD, FAO, and WFP
Building bridges between science, innovation, and action Three pilot countries in West Africa A global ambition Next steps : the Euro-Africa Biennials in Montpellier
During these discussions, the IIH presented its vision : to strengthen innovation ecosystems to transform science and research into concrete levers for the transition to sustainable food systems. Particular attention will be paid to project leaders from civil society : their innovations will be considered and showcased, with the IIH acting as a bridge to the scientific community to ensure their support, development, and dissemination.
Initially, the IIH will focus its work on Benin, Senegal, and Côte d’Ivoire, with three priorities :
Strengthen and co-construct local innovation ecosystems, in collaboration with the innovation and development services of academic and scientific partners.
Launch an innovation challenge to experiment and test concrete solutions aimed at improving sustainability and food security.
Develop replicable models that can be adapted and deployed across the African continent, then disseminated internationally.
This visit to Rome illustrates the IIH’s commitment to anchoring its work in an international dynamic, relying on strategic partnerships. The IIH aims to become a catalyst connecting scientific innovations, citizen initiatives, and local realities to contribute to the transformation of sustainable food systems on a large scale.
The next exchanges will take place within the framework of the Euro-Africa Biennials, which will be held in Montpellier starting October 6, 2025. The IIH will continue its dialogue with its institutional, academic, scientific, and civil society partners to consolidate its role as an international platform for sustainable and inclusive food systems.
