Registration
 The
earlybird deadline for registration is extended until JUNE
30th
Programme
and call for papers
Replies to the authors were delayed since we needed extra time to
review more than 500 abstracts. Nonetheless, all the authors should
have received an answer by now.
Please note that papers and posters will be published in the proceedings
without any distinction provided that final versions are returned
before JUNE 15th
and registrations fees paid before JUNE
30th.
Due
to the high number and quality of papers submitted to session S2.3.1
on Yield Gap Analysis, two extra sessions have been added on August
31st, so that a full-day symposium will be devoted to this subject
(chaired by Martin van Ittersum and Ken Kassman).
Detailed
programme with the oral contributions of all sessions will be available
on the website very soon.
Detailed
information on the
"Environmental Change and
Sustainable Agricultural Systems" workshop organized on
September 3rd is now available. For additional information, please
contact John Ingram.
International
courses
"Working
with Dynamics Models" course (September 2nd to September 4th):
40 applications were received whereas it is formatted for 25 only.
Accepted candidacies will be informed very soon, and a second version
of this course will be proposed before the end of the year, especially
for French candidates.
"Integrated
Assessment of Agricultural Systems" course: since only 12 applications
were reviewed, this is being reformatted to a 3-days course in parallel
to the previous one (from September 2nd to September 4th). The programme
will be available on the website very soon. If you wish to attend
to it, but have not applied yet, please contact Mr
Belhouchette.
Grants
We
have received 69 applications which is much more than we can finance.
Most of the fundings comes from Agropolis
Fondation, but additional ones have also been granted by ESA,
CIRAD
and Ird.
Applications have been reviewed and ranked on the criteria basis
announced in the call. Priority has been given to applicants conducting
a Ph.D. and applying for a partial funding. Finally, registration
fees for 44 candidates will be granted and free accommodation for
21 candidates in the SupAgro Students Residence.
No
travelling costs will be financed on this grant but we hope this
will be helpful for you to find additional funds. Letters of acceptance
will be sent soon. We can supply accommodation at reduced fees in
the SupAgro Students Residence.

Field
trips
We plan to organize three different field trips on Thursday September
2nd, if we have enough participants. These field trips combine the
discovery of three different regional cultivations - vineyard, olive
grove and rice-growing - with the tasting of local products and
guided tours of touristic sites.
Exhibition
We still have some spaces available in the exhibition...As
the cost include registration fees to the congress, it is a valuable
opportunity to make the most of the conferences while promoting
your company. Space booking is open until June
30th.
Public
conference on Agriculture, Farmers and Consumers (in French)
This
conference will take place on Sunday August 29th, after the welcome
reception, at the Rabelais conference center next to the Corum.
It will be chaired by Alain Capillon (Montpellier Supagro). Three
movies on agroforestry, local bio-agriculture and how to feed the
world, will be shown upon this occasion and followed with a debate
between scientists, farmers and consumers.
Information of interest
Monsanto's
Beachell-Borlaug International Scholars Program supports students
to obtain their Ph.D. in wheat and rice breeding from any university
in the world. $10 millions are dedicated to this program. Further
information is available on their website.
