On
behalf of the European Society for Agronomy and of the Agropolis
scientific community, I will be pleased to share with you
the best of what Agronomy has to offer to meet the challenges
of Agriculture in the XXIth century.
Being in Montpellier during the International Scientific Week
around Agronomy AGRO2010 (August 29th-September 3rd) means
having the opportunity of taking part in different scientific
trails adapted to your needs combined with leasure time, as
follows:
-
Sunday afternoon,
August 29th: take time to register, display
your poster, check your presentation, share the welcome
cocktail with a fine selection of French wines and later
on enjoy an entertaining evening, in the Rabelais Theater
(if you are not reluctant to French language!).
-
Monday, August 30th:
Science will meet Institutions and Agrobusiness through
debates on the scientific challenges for Agronomy and how
we deal with them in 6 short sessions introducing the key
questions for the following days of the week.
-
Tuesday, August
31st: the 11 sessions will bring you at the
interfaces between agronomy and other disciplines (plant
biology and genetics, ecology, social sciences) where the
challenges for food security, adaptation to climate change,
biodiversity, resource conservation and sustainable development
should be launched.
-
Wednesday, September
1st: 9 sessions will drag you to the Heart
of Agronomy with the three ESA scientific divisions and
detail the Art of a scientific discipline which is also
a profession.
-
From Thursday, September 2nd to Saturday, September 4th,
go to the SupAgro-Inra-CIRAD-IAMM Campus for sharing of
knowledge, expertise and developing collaborative programs
through the following:

in Action with development institutions, technical
institutes and agrobusiness (September 2nd ).
  * Courses
on methods and concepts for Dynamic Modelling and Integrated
Assessment of Agricultural Systems (September
